About
Dr. Grant Lu is the medical anesthesiologist behind our in-office sleep dentistry program. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Western Ontario in 1992, became certified by the College of Family Physicians of Canada, and completed a Specialty Fellowship in Anesthesiology (FRCPC) at the University of Toronto.
Dr. Lu was among the first medical anesthesiologists to partner with the dental community to bring in-office sleep dentistry to children. The approach lets a child have a complex or anxiety-heavy procedure completed in one visit, under the supervision of an experienced medical anesthesiologist rather than a dental practitioner alone.
He spent four years practicing emergency medicine and anesthesia in a rural setting before settling into pediatric, obstetric, and adult anesthesiology as a staff anesthesiologist at Scarborough Hospital. He also holds courtesy staff status at Humber River Regional Hospital, St. Joseph's Hospital, Lakeridge Health, and Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay.
